A man tagged as commander of the New People’s Army (NPA) surrendered reportedly to the authorities.

The person surrendered at the Abellana Police Station 2 of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) past 8 a.m. on March 25, 2025.

The surrenderer is allegedly an NPA commander, aged 57 years old, and a resident of Sitio Kakha, Barangay Talalak, Santa Catalina town in the Province Negros Oriental.

The accused has warrants of arrest for cases of rebellion(three counts), violation of Republic Act 9852 or crime against international law, genocide, and other crimes against humanity, murder (three counts), frustrated murder (two  counts), violation of Republic Act 10591 or comprehensive law on firearms and ammunition; Republic Act 7166 in relation to Commission on Elections (COMELEC) laws and Resolution No. 10728 on election gun ban, robbery (two counts), and theft (six counts).

The accused used reportedly six aliases: Jimlan, Layan, Totoy, Yanyan, Naldo, and Yaksel.
