A passenger who held up a taxicab driver in Talisay City, Cebu was identified to be a "notorious robber."

Police Lt. Col. Maila Maramag, chief of the Talisay City Police Station, said that the identity of the holdupper, who pretended to be a passenger, was established using the footage of the dashboard camera that captured the incident, closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage in barangays, and with the help of motortaxi drivers who saw the suspect disembark from the taxicab.

It was afternoon on March 22, 2025 when the suspect took a cab from Barangay Tabunok and disembarked in Barangay Lawaan 3.

The suspect wore a long-sleeved shirt and a face mask.

Maramag said that the suspect is a ”notorious robber."

The suspect pointed a gun at the 46-year-old taxi driver and took his money worth P1,600.

When the suspect got out of the taxi, he removed his mask that revealed his face to motortaxi drivers gathered nearby. 

The Talisay City Police have filed robbery charges against the suspect, and already monitored the suspect while waiting for a warrant of arrest.
