Samples of DNA [deoxyribonucleic acid that carries genetic information] collected from three suspects in the slay of a Slovak national in Boracay Island have been submitted for examination, Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 Director, Brigadier General Jack Wanky confirmed.
As of this writing, identities of three suspects have already been established in the death of Slovak national Michaela Mickova who was found dead on March 12, 2025 in an abandoned chapel in Boracay Island, Malay town, Province of Aklan.
Wanky said that they are waiting for the conclusive result of the DNA examination [genetic testing] for the filing of charges against the suspects.
Police believe in the strength of the charges based on the extrajudicial confession of one of the suspects.
"Ipinadala ng ating crime laboratory sa Cebu. That would really confirm sa mga identified nating suspects,” Wanky said.
