Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, General Rommel Marbil, urged personnel of the Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) to remain loyal to their duty amid the political turmoil in the country.
Marbil made the call during his command visit on Friday, March 21, 2025.
Marbil visited PRO-10 a day after he appeared before the hearing of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations in relation to the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
Duterte was arrested in the Philippines on March 11, 2025 by virtue of a warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC). He was flown to The Hague, Netherlands immediately after.
In his message, Marbil urged the men and women of PRO-10 to stay committed to their duty as law enforcers despite the political challenges.
“This year, talaga po nabugbog yung Philippine National Police… let’s just be proud… sumusunod lang po tayo sa tama,” Marbil said.
The country’s top cop acknowledged the issues faced by the organization.
However, he explained that challenges come with their responsibility to serve and protect the people.
“Hindi po namin kayo dadalhin sa mali. I will never follow maling orders kasi kawawa mga pulis,” Marbil added.
Marbil also led the turnover of several projects of PRO-10 and recognized police officers who made significant accomplishments.
