Two men were found dead in different locations in Laoag City.

In Barangay 24, a 78-year-old man was found dead inside a small hut after a resident noticed a foul odor while passing by the hut.

The resident checked inside and saw the decomposing body. They reported it immediately to the police.

According to the City Health Office's post-mortem examination, the victim had been dead for five days.

The cause of death was determined to be acute coronary syndrome or a heart attack.

Meanwhile, a 19-year-old construction worker was also found dead at a construction site in Barangay 11.

His coworkers attempted to wake him up but found him unresponsive.

Investigators learned that the victim had been drinking with friends the night before outside the unfinished building.

A post-mortem examination confirmed that he died of acute coronary syndrome as well. There were no signs of foul play.

Authorities have reminded the public to be mindful of their health, especially those with pre-existing heart conditions.
