Two newborn babies were found abandoned in separate locations in Davao City and Cotabato.

In Davao City, a newborn boy placed inside a paper bag was found on Singkil Street in Lanzona Subdivision, Matina Aplaya.

Police said a woman heard the baby crying and found him with his umbilical cord still attached.

A handwritten letter, believed to be from the baby’s parents, was found inside the bag.

The note contained the baby’s name and a plea.

“Please treat him with love and care just like your own. Provide him something that he needs because for now we can’t afford to raise him. Please don’t change his name. Sorry for passing our responsibility to yours,” the letter reads.

The baby, weighing 2.9 kilos, was brought to a hospital and is currently under observation.

Meanwhile, a newborn girl placed inside a box was found on a table outside a store in Barangay Tubon, Pigcawayan, Cotabato.

At first, residents suspected that the box might contain a bomb, but upon inspection, it was the baby girl found inside.

The incident in Cotabato was captured on CCTV.
