A woman gone berserk disrupted classes at Guihulngan National High School in Guihulngan City, Province of Negros Oriental.

The incident, caught on video, happened past 11 a.m. on March 18, 2025 in Barangay Hilaitan.

In a phone interview with Patrolman Leonel Tanilon, desk officer of Guihulngan City Police Station,  the woman, described to be a mentally challenged person, went irate at students who allegedly bullied her.

The machete-wielding woman attempted to enter a classroom by hacking the doorknob.

However, students inside the classroom were seen to have held the doorknob to stop the unlocking.

Other students were heard in the video crying and shouting, while a teacher from inside the classroom tried to pacify the woman.

Tanilon said that school officials were able to seek assistance from barangay tanods (watchmen) and reported the incident at the police station.

No one was reported injured in the incident, Tanilon said.

As for dealing with mentally challenged persons, Tanilon said that the woman was later placed into the custody of the City Social Welfare and Services Office.

For students who witnessed the woman running amok, the authorities trust that the school will be able to provide appropriate intervention, Tanilon added.
