A 62-year-old retired seafarer was allegedly killed by his house help in Buhangin, Davao City.
Police said the victim’s wife, who is in Manila at the time of the incident, asked the employees of the medical laboratory owned by her husband to check on him after she could no longer contact him or the stay-in help.
Upon entering the house, the employees found the victim’s lifeless body. The house help, however, was no longer around.
The victim sustained stab wounds in the neck and head.
Recovered from the crime scene were a knife and a round steel bar with bloodstains, which may have been used in the killing.
Authorities are tracking the whereabouts of the helper, as of this writing.
The helper’s father in Panabo City, Davao del Norte said his son has not been home for two weeks.
Police are preparing the murder charges to be filed against the helper.
