State weather bureau PAGASA issued a heavy rainfall outlook due to the shear line affecting parts of Bicol and the Visayas.
Weather Advisory No. 6 on the shear line was issued at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2025.
March 20, 2025 to March 21, 2025 noon
Heavy to Intense (100-200 mm):
Samar, Eastern Samar and Northern Samar
Moderate to Heavy (50-100 mm):
Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Catanduanes, Albay, Masbate, and Sorsogon
March 21, 2025 noon to March 22, 2025 noon
Heavy to Intense (100-200 mm):
Northern Samar
Moderate to Heavy (50-100 mm):
Sorsogon, Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran, and Leyte

“Forecast rainfall may be higher in mountainous and elevated areas. Moreover, impacts in some areas may be worsened by significant antecedent rainfall,” PAGASA said.
“The public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. PAGASA Regional Services Divisions may issue heavy rainfall warnings, rainfall/thunderstorm advisories, and other severe weather information specific to their areas of responsibility as appropriate. Unless significant changes occur, the next weather advisory will be issued at 5 p.m. today (March 20, 2025),” PAGASA added.
