Ambulant vendors in Dagupan City are facing challenges with the reopening of the baratilyo (bazaar) on March 28, 2025, ahead of the Bangus Festival.
The baratilyo and food strip operations are expected to last for three months until June 28.
Many vendors have resumed operations only recently after a three-month closure for the Dagupan City Fiesta bazaar.
"Mas humaba yung buwan, eh. Sobrang hirap. Sobrang tumal po kasi, palaging lugi," Recyly Ayson, a vendor, said.
The vendors' main concern is where they will be relocated.
The Anti-Littering Task Force assured them that designated areas will be prepared for their businesses.
"Binibigyan ng oras tuwing hapon kung saan yung place na hindi sagabal sa dadaanan ng sasakyan. Doon namin sila ilalagay," Jaime Serna Jr., chief of the Dagupan City Anti-Littering Task Force, said.
Aside from vendors, jeepney drivers are also affected by the upcoming event. Routes will be altered to accommodate the bazaar and a food strip along Zamora Street.
"Dag-dag-hirap sa biyahe pag ganun. Doon na naman sa kabila ang daan," Ronnie Broce, a jeepney driver, said.
Despite these adjustments, the Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) assured that traffic enforcers will remain deployed as usual.
"Parehas lang po. Kung sakaling may pagkakagusot, doon tayo magbabago," POSO Chief Arvin Decano said.
