One of three persons of interest (POIs) in the death of a 23-year-old Slovak national in Boracay Island filed an affidavit of extrajudicial confession. He pointed at two other individuals who were with him reportedly in perpetrating the rape and slay.

Personnel of the Malay Municipal Police Station filed at the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office in Aklan on March 17, 2025 the affidavit of extrajudicial confession after one of three persons of interest admitted committing the crime.

The said person of three POIs is already in the custody of policemen in the Municipality of Malay, as of this writing.

In a report by Darwin Tapayan of GMA Super Radyo Kalibo, it was learned that the person, in his affidavit, said he was with the Slovak national along with two other companions prior to the discovery of the body  in a dilapidated chapel of an abandoned resort.

The person stated that while at the chapel, they had a “pot session” prior to the crime. He said that one of his two companions bashed the head of the Slovak national with a hard object.

However, the other person accused of participation in the crime denied vehemently the allegation.

The three POIs were identified through a closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage that showed they were with the Slovak tourist in an establishment buying drinks prior to the incident. 

The three were further found to be natives of Boracay Island involved allegedly in the illegal drugs trade and other crimes.

The remains of Michaela Mickova is at a funeral homes in Aklan, as of this writing, set for transport to her country.

To recall, Mickova arrived in Boracay on March 1, 2025 alone to attend a Filipina friend’s wedding to a foreign national.
