Authorities intercepted five suspects of a robbery in Surigao del Norte during a police operation on Maharlika Highway in Barangay Tabugon, Sta. Elena, Camarines Norte.

Two of the suspects are from Zambales while three are from Bulacan.

They were caught during hot pursuit led by the Police Regional Office 5 (PRO5) together with other police units.

PRO-5 said the Claver Municipal Police Station (MPS) in Surigao del Norte alerted the Sta. Elena MPS that the suspects were fleeing in a green Honda CR-V toward Bicol from Leyte.

The vehicle was linked to a robbery that occurred on March 9 in Barangay Bagakay, Claver.

Authorities recovered stolen items, including multiple laptops, cellphones, an internet router, and even police uniforms.

Further investigation also revealed that one of the suspects had an outstanding warrant for carnapping.

The suspects and the items confiscates are now in police custody.

PBGEN Andre P. Dizon, PRO5 director, praised the coordinated efforts of law enforcement in ensuring public safety and bringing the suspects to justice.
