Authorities confiscated suspected shabu worth an estimated P2.04 million and arrested a high-value individual (HVI) during a buy-bust operation at Central Plaza Complex, Barangay Lag-on, Daet, Camarines Norte.
The Provincial Intelligence Unit – Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit (PIU-PPDEU), along with the Daet Municipal Police Station (MPS), conducted the operation at around 9:47 p.m. on March 3, 2025.
Authorities recovered 49 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing 300 grams of shabu, with a standard drug price (SDP) of P2,040,000.00.
The 38-year-old suspect is a butcher and resident of Purok Molave, Barangay Poblacion Norte in Paracale.
He is facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). He remains in police custody while awaiting legal proceedings.
In a press release, PBGEN Andre P. Dizon, director of Police Regional Office 5 (PRO5), commended the operatives for the successful operation and urged intensified efforts against illegal drugs.
"Ang matagumpay na operasyong ito ay patunay ng ating patuloy na pagsisikap sa paglaban kontra iligal na droga sa rehiyon. Hindi tayo titigil hangga’t tuluyang napupuksa ang mga sindikatong nagpapalaganap ng droga sa ating mga komunidad," he said.
He added that PNP Bicol will strengthen its anti-crime operations to maintain peace and order in the region.
