A large group of wild ducks was spotted at the Padsan River in Laoag City, capturing the attention of motorists passing by the bridge nearby.

According to the Provincial Veterinary Office, the ducks may have arrived in search of food.

However, officials have warned residents not to catch or touch them due to concerns over bird flu.

“Huwag hulihin, ‘wag hawakan, panoorin lang. ‘Yun ang aming by-word na advocacy for prevention of bird flu in our area,” Ilocos Norte Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Loida Valenzuela said.

Authorities are still unsure if the ducks came from bird flu-affected countries, so they are urging the public to observe from a distance.
