A 50-year-old man in Davao City who claimed that his body is ‘bulletproof’ was injured when his drinking companion shot him.
Police said the victim and the suspect were drinking when the victim allegedly challenged the suspect, saying his body can fend off bullets.
The suspect got a rifle air gun and shot the victim, hitting him in the knee.
The victim, as it turned out, was not invincible, and had to undergo surgery.
“Nag-inom ni sila unya murag gi-challenge ang suspek na ana siya, ‘di man ko madutlan og bala’, hinamon niya, ayun, binaril siya,” Mandug Police Station Chief, Major Rejie Torrita, said.
The suspect surrendered to authorities and told the police that he used the air gun to hunt birds.
“Pellet ang bala niya. Mahilig pud daw siya mamusil og langgam,” Torrita added.
The suspect is facing frustrated homicide charges and alleged violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act (RA 10591) and election gun ban.
