More than 6,000 police officers have been deployed to secure the activities for the 88th Araw ng Dabaw.

The send-off ceremony was held at the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) grounds.

Aside from the police, other agencies will also deploy their personnel.

“Remain attentive, vigilant and responsive to your surroundings under any circumstances. Let us make this Araw ng Dabaw safe, secured to our local visitors and tourists, the security is the top priority,” DCPO Director, Col. Hansel Marantan, said.

Authorities aim to achieve zero incidents.

“Because we are aiming for zero incidents, therefore, kanang barugan na nato ni, tindogan na nato ni, like sa mga previous events sa Davao City, we achieved zero incidents sa mga niagi,” Davao City Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO) Chief, Angel Sumagaysay, said.

The 88th Araw ng Dabaw will kick off on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Rizal Park after a Holy Mass at the San Pedro Cathedral.

Among the highlights of the celebration are the Mutya ng Dabaw grand coronation on March 15 and Parada Dabawenyo on March 16.

Various celebrations are also expected in some barangays in the city.
