About a day to the opening of the Fire Prevention Month, a huge fire broke out in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City at 7:11 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2025.
The fire struck around 50 houses and affected close to 300 individuals in Sitio San Vicente, Barangay Lahug across a religious temple.
The fire was raised to second alarm.
Firefighters from Barangay Lahug, Barangay Luz, Barangay Guadalupe, and personnel of the Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), among others, responded immediately at the scene.
The fire left behind approximately P1.2 million in damages.
As of posting time, fire investigators are yet to release information on the cause of the fire.
