A barangay watchman was shot dead by two unidentified gunmen while resting in a hut in Barangay San Miguel, Calasiao, Pangasinan morning on Monday, February 24, 2025.
Authorities identified the victim as Michael Mararac Meneses, a resident of the same barangay.
According to initial reports, Meneses was resting in a hut when two suspects approached suddenly and shot him multiple times.
He sustained several gunshot wounds in different parts of his body.
Meneses’ family was shocked by the attack. They said they knew of no enemies or disputes involving him.
“Sana po mahuli po gumawa sa papa ko po,” the victim's child said.
Authorities are yet to release a statement about possible suspects or motives while investigations are ongoing.
