A drug suspect who allegedly operated a drug den was killed for allegedly fighting back against authorities during a sting operation in Barangay Upper Siling, Buluan, Maguindanao del Sur on Thursday, February 20, 2025.
Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM) and other law enforcement units conducted a buy-bust operation, which resulted in the dismantling of a drug den allegedly ran by alias “Dats.”
Alias “Dats” and his companion alias “Rolan” opened fire upon sensing the presence of the operatives, prompting the operating team to retaliate.
The exchange of fire lasted for about 15 minutes.
Alias “Dats” was hit and did not reach the hospital alive while alias “Rolan” evaded arrest.
Authorities arrested two other suspects identified as alias “Memo” and alias “King.”
Seized from the alleged drug den were sachets of suspected shabu worth around P102,000, drug paraphernalia, a motorcycle, a 9mm submachine gun, and ammunition.
The arrested suspects, including alias “Rolan,” are facing charges.
