A family in Barangay Tococ East in Bayambang, Pangasinan is crying for justice after their 16-year-old daughter was raped and killed by three men.

The victim, Jasmin Barberan, was last seen around 11 p.m. on February 18 when she left home without informing her family.

Witnesses saw her riding a tricycle that picked her up and took her to an abandoned house in Barangay Sangkagulis.

Authorities found her body covered with a sack in a nearby mango plantation.

Her slippers were discovered a few meters away.

Barangay Sangkagulis said the victim sustained a head injury caused possibly by a metal pipe found at the crime scene.

Pinagpukpok sa ulo niya siguro," Niño Curameng, the barangay councilman, said.

Police said one of the suspects had already assaulted the victim, claiming that she liked him. The other, feeling envious and under the influence of alcohol along with the first suspect, attempted to do the same. However, when the victim resisted, he allegedly punched her and covered her mouth with a piece of clothing.

Rollyfer Capoquian, Pangasinan Police Provincial Director, said.

The suspects, along with two witnesses, are now in police custody.

Geraldine Barberan, the victim’s mother, said those responsible should never be allowed to walk free.

Hindi sila lalabas habang buhay," she aid.

In an official statement on social media, the Bayambang municipal government condemned the crime strongly and assured that all necessary steps would be taken to seek justice for the victim.

The victim’s body is set to undergo an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
