Thousands of tourists are expected to flock to Baguio City this weekend for the Grand Street Dance Parade and Grand Float Parade, the biggest highlights of the Panagbenga Festival 2025.

To ensure safety, 1,800 police officers will be deployed along parade routes and key tourist areas.

Authorities are also urging visitors to use the Baguio City Police Office's (BCPO) "BCPOView Baguio" app to check for traffic build-up and available parking spaces.

“Application ito kung saan makikita nila kung saan ang mga traffic na parts,” PMAJ Marcy Grace Marron, PIO of Baguio City Police Office said.

STREET DANCE COMPETITION

Participants are gearing up for the Drum and Lyre and Street Dance Field Demonstration, set to take place a day before the Grand Parade.

For the Rosario Integrated School Mila from La Union, this marks their first time competing, and the students are eager to showcase their performance.

“100% na kaming handa, excited na ang mga bata sa gagawin nila bukas sa competition,” Jaymark Garimbao, the school's coordinator, said.

42 FLORAL FLOATS

On February 23, a total of 42 intricately designed floral floats will parade through Baguio’s streets.

Annabel Cruz, a first-time visitor, is thrilled to witness the festival.

“Excited kami, Ma’am, kasi first time namin dito,” she said.

NO POLITICS

The Baguio Flower Festival Foundation Inc. (BFFFI) announced national candidates are prohibited from campaigning during the festival.

While politicians may join the parade, they are not allowed to wear campaign shirts or distribute campaign materials.

“We do not want our festival na magamit as platform for campaigning, ayaw natin yan. We hope the politicians will respect it, hindi po political activity ang flower festival,” Andrew Pinero, BFFFI spokesperson, said.

As Baguio City welcomes tourists for Panagbenga 2025, organizers remind everyone to respect festival rules and enjoy the grand celebration of culture, creativity, and community spirit.
