The Iloilo City Government has lauded a traffic enforcer for his honesty.
The traffic enforcer identified as Rodolfo Villasis, Jr., assistant supervisor, found a pouch that contained P32,500 near the Philippine-American Cemetery on Valentine’s Day, at about 2 p.m.
The pouch also contained an identification card of its owner, a certain Ginoo Leo Gamboa.
Villasis turned over the pouch to the city's Traffic and Transportation Management Unit (TTMU) .
According to Retired Colonel Uldarico Garbanzos, head of TTMU, the office reached out to Gamboa to have the pouch returned. Garbanzos said that Gamboa thanked Villasis for serving the public well.
In an interview by members of the media, Villasis said that it is the right thing to do. He said he never keeps things that are not his.
Villasis has been working as a traffic enforcer for five years now.
Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas vowed to hand over a reward to Villasis.
