Puerto Princesa in Palawan has been placed under a state of calamity after severe flooding caused by the shear line affected over 3,000 families and hundreds of hectares of farmland across 24 barangays.
In a report on Balitanghali on Wednesday, February 12, the city budget officer said P86 million from the quick response fund is available to assist affected residents.
Authorities are currently assessing damage to fisheries and livestock.
Meanwhile, in the town of Aborlan, five bodies were recovered after a van was swept away by floodwaters on Sunday, February 9. Seven others survived the incident.
