A 14-year-old student died while her two classmates were injured when they figured in an accident while riding a motorcycle in Koronadal City, South Cotabato.

Police said the students were looking for a location for their filmmaking project when the student driving the motorcycle reportedly lost control of the vehicle as they were traveling downhill.

“Yung daan din po natin pababa din ito. Accordingly, mayroong problema sa brake and then na-lost control yung kanyang motorcycle. Yun ngayon ang naging reason na bumangga siya sa gilid ng kalsada,” Koronadal City Police Station Chief, Lt. Col. Hoover Antonio, said.

The driver was rushed to the hospital but she was declared dead on arrival due to severe head injuries.

The two students injured are recuperating, as of this writing.

Police added that the school administration is expected to take action after the accident.

Authorities also advised parents not to allow their minor children to drive a motorcycle or any vehicle for that matter.

“This is a concern of our parents na ang mga minor especially itong mga estudyante , ‘wag nating hayaan na i-drive ang ating mga motorsiklo or any vehicle most especially na hindi nga sila allowed at saka unang -una wala silang seminar , wala silang knowledge on how to drive properly, mga do’s and don’ts,” Antonio said.
