Three people were killed while two others were injured when the service of an arrest warrant resulted in an exchange of fire in Tagum City, Davao del Norte evening on Friday, January 31, 2025.
Police were supposed to serve the warrant against two men accused of murder when one of the suspects allegedly opened fire.
Two members of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team were hit.
Operatives returned fire and killed one of the suspects. Another suspect was killed subsequently while the suspects’ companion who hid at a grassy area near a creek was killed later during hot pursuit.
