The Philippine Navy has confirmed a report on the sighting of an underwater drone, or glider, at the seawaters of the Province of Bohol.
A video of the silver and red glider was caught on cellphone camera by a fisherman, but in a post by Philippines Defense Forces Forum it was cited that the person did not fish out the object out of fear.
The equipment is the sixth of its kind retrieved from Philippine seas.
The Philippine Navy called on the public, especially fishermen, to call the authorities immediately upon sighting of unidentified floating equipment.
Retrieval will help facilitate forensic examination of the object.
The latest sighting of an underwater drone floating in the ocean was in the Province of Masbate.
The authorities have not ruled out the possibility that the equipment was used in military application.
As of posting time, Bohol Governor Erico Aris Aumentado is waiting for an official report on the incident before he would issue a statement.
