The Bukidnon Provincial Police Office is dangling a P50,000 reward for anyone who can provide information on the identity and whereabouts of other suspects in the alleged rape and killing of a five-year-old girl in Valencia City, Bukidnon.
Bukidnon-PPO Director, Col. Jovit Culaway, said operatives are still hunting down two more suspects.
The reward money is put up for each suspect.
“Very heinous man gud ni and this is first time nga maka-encounter ko in my career nga ingon ani,” Culaway said.
The girl was found dead at a sugarcane plantation on January 11, 2025, a day after she went missing. She is believed to have been raped first before killed.
A person of interest (POI) has turned himself in to authorities and reportedly owned up to the crime.
However, while he was giving his extra-judicial confession together with his legal counsel, he allegedly grabbed the gun of a policeman and shot himself dead.
“Mura’g gisakay sa motorela o tricycle padulong didto sa area. Gitagaan og candy, gi-amigo-amigo and then nabitbit na niya. So, abi pud sa nakakita, abi niya’g anak daw atong isa ka suspek. Kinsa ba gud ang magduda kay wala man siguro naghilak ang bata o by force nga gibira siya,” Culaway said.
