Anti-illegal drug operatives arrested five people with suspected shabu worth around P3 million in separate operations in Sultan Kudarat and South Cotabato.
Police arrested three suspects in Banga, South Cotabato after 38 sachets of suspected shabu worth more than P1.9 million were seized from their possession.
One of the suspects was considered a high value individual in the illegal drug trade.
“The seizure of over Php1.9 million worth of suspected shabu and the arrest of three individuals demonstrate the success of our intensified campaign against the proliferation of illegal drugs. This operation reflects our steadfast resolve to rid SOCCSKSARGEN of this menace. We will continue to strengthen our efforts, in collaboration with our partner agencies, to ensure a drug-free and safer community for everyone," Police Regional Office-SOCCSKSARGEN Director, Brigadier General Arnold Ardiente, said.
Meanwhile, two other suspects were arrested in Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat.
Confiscated from them were sachets of suspected shabu worth around P1.1 million.
The five suspects are now detained and are facing charges for alleged violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165).
