Fishermen and motorists in Casiguran and Dilasag in Aurora are facing tough challenges as heavy rains, strong waves, and floods disrupt their daily lives and livelihoods.

For nearly two weeks, fishermen have been unable to go to sea due to high waves and cold weather.

To support their families, many have turned to farming and construction work.

“Wala po at maalon... Walang nakakalusong ngayon, malakas ang alon,” Anthony Lapeña, a fisherman, said.

In Dilasag, flooding from rising river waters has made roads impassable, forcing residents to improvise.

Lyndon Mondala, a student, said they had no choice but to cross through rushing floodwaters.

“Mag-eenrol kami kaya namin tinawid. No choice po kasi kami,” he said.

Delivery workers also face difficulties, often carrying parcels by hand through dangerous conditions.

“Ang hirap po talaga kasi araw-araw kaming naghahatid ng parcel tapos hindi pa nagagawa yung tulay... kapag umuulan po, nagbabaha po dito,” Ricardo Viaje, a delivery boy, said.

Flooding has stranded vehicles, some requiring ropes to be pulled.
