Police arrested two men and seized suspected marijuana worth P28 million at a checkpoint in Roxas, Isabela.
According to Police Brigadier General Antonio Marallag Jr., the two suspects, both 30 years old and allegedly from Mandaluyong City, were caught with 222 marijuana bricks and 19 packages of rolled dried marijuana.
The street value of the drugs is estimated at P26.64 million and P2.28 million, respectively.
The suspects were flagged down by police while driving a sports utility vehicle (SUV).
However, they tried to flee, speeding away and damaging a police car in the process. They were arrested during hot pursuit in Mallig, Isabela.
The two are now in police custody and are facing multiple charges.
