A 39-year-old man broke down in tears and called for his mother after authorities raided his house by virtue of a warrant for drugs and firearms in Balungao, Pangasinan.
Police identified the suspect as a high-value target following his arrest in 2017 for allegedly violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (Republic Act 9165).
“Kaya natin po siya nasabing High Value Target sapagkat noong June 10, 2017 ay naaresto rin po ang ating nasabing suspek for the violation of RA 9165,” PLT. Trisha Guzman, spokesperson for the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office, said.
During the operation, authorities seized six sachets of suspected shabu valued at P204,000, drug paraphernalia, a .45 caliber pistol, a magazine, and ammunition.
Investigators are also looking at the suspect's potential connections to larger drug networks and gun-for-hire activities.
“Sa mga nakuha natin, is titingnan natin sa validation and magiging ongoing investigation kung may possible links ang ating suspek sa mga gun-for-hire,” Guzman said.
The suspect is currently detained at Balungao Police Station.
