A traffic enforcer was hit by a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) while on duty at an intersection in Santa Maria, Bulacan.
Closed circuit television (CCTV) footage shows the MPV speeding and suddenly hitting traffic enforcer Salvador Dela Cruz, Jr. who was standing at the intersection.
The impact knocked the enforcer off his post. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Initial investigation by the Santa Maria Traffic Management Office revealed that the MPV driver was experiencing fatigue from a trip to Manila.
The driver was arrested and is facing charges but declined to give a statement.
