With only five days left before the January 20 deadline, only 10 percent of business owners in Mangaldan, Pangasinan have renewed their permits.

As of January 15, 2025, around 300 business permits have been renewed, far from the nearly 3,000 target set by the municipal government.

Municipal Treasurer Marilou Gavino urged business owners to act quickly.

“Every January, talagang paulit-ulit naming sinasabi na mag-renew sila ng permits nila,” she said.

The local government said no extensions will be granted for the renewal period.

Failure to renew permits on time will result in a 25 percent surcharge and an additional two percent monthly penalty, which could weigh heavily on small business owners.

Crisanto Radoc, a printing shop owner, shared his determination to renew on time and avoid penalties.

“Mahalaga ito para walang penalty atsaka kampante ako,” he said.

The local government expects more business owners to meet the deadline
