Two people died after a fire razed a foam warehouse in Barangay Ilang, Davao City afternoon on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.

According to a report by GMA Super Radyo Davao, the Davao City Fire District said the fatalities worked at the warehouse and got trapped when the fire broke out.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the bodies have not been retrieved, as of this writing.

“Nag-cut kasi sila, yung team namin from Davao City Fire District kasi hindi pa dumadating ang family… at the same time, umuulan na rin kagabi and the structure is unsafe na rin po para sa responders at the scenario,” Davao City Fire District Public Information Unit Chief, Fire Senior Inspector Frances Marie Sendrijas, said.

Authorities said the fire was raised to second alarm and was put out after two hours.

The cost of damage reached more than P8 million.

BFP is still investigating the cause of the fire.

GMA Regional TV One Mindanao is reaching out to the owner of the warehouse for a statement, as of this writing.
