Children ages 12 years old and below are banned on board boats with outrigger (de katig) that will be joining the Fiesta Señor fluvial procession on Saturday, January 18, 2025.

Firecrackers, balloons, and other items that pose risk to the activity are also banned.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has also announced that Mactan Channel will be closed to non-participating vessels beginning 4 a.m. on January 18, 2025, as the procession is set to start by 6 a.m.

The procession will sail toward the vicinity of Cordova Cebu Link Expressway (CCLEX), or the third bridge.

The fluvial procession will take about two hours to get to Pier 1 in Cebu City for the “galleon” that will be carrying the image of the Señor Santo Niño to dock at about 8 a.m.

At least 320 sea vessels have registered with the PCG for the fluvial procession.

Captain Jerome Lozada, commander of the Cebu Coast Guard Station, confirmed that there are more participants in 2025 compared to 2024.

Captain Lozada also said that they have reached the final stage in their preparation for the said activity.

Participants are required to abide by safety protocols, especially the capacity for sea vessels to avoid overloading.

Bigger vessels will sail in the front row, while the smaller vessels will take the back row to ensure safety of participants.

Lozada further said that the stretch of the procession will take about eight nautical miles (10 to 11 kilometers) and that boats will be cruising at a speed of seven to eight knots (10 kilometers per hour).

The PCG vowed of maximum deployment of personnel and sea assets on the day of the procession, and augmentation of services during the Sinulog Grand Parade on January 19, 2025.
