A newborn boy was found at a grassy area in Barangay Cannery Site, Polomolok, South Cotabato.
The baby was found with his umbilical cord still attached.
The baby had sustained ant bites in different parts of the body.
Residents rescued and brought the baby to the hospital.
“Maayo pud gidala sa hospital, which is mao to ang insakto nga madala sa hospital, kay importante man na minutos, segundos… that really matters ba sa mga ing ana nga sitwasyon,” Barangay Cannery Site Chairman, Rogen Ermitaño, said.
The baby is now in safe condition.
The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) is taking care of the baby.
Authorities have yet to identify the mother or the person who abandoned the baby in the area.
