Two ash emission events that spanned 10 minutes to 47 minutes long were recorded on Kanlaon Volcano in Negros Island at about 12 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2025.
At least 22 volcanic earthquakes, including seven volcanic tremors, that spanned 10 minutes to 62 minutes long were also recorded, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).
Sulfur dioxide flux was measured at 5,460 tons a day on Sunday, January 12, 2025.
Plume reached 500 meters tall, while continuous degassing with occasional ash emission drifted west and west-southwest of the volcano.
The volcano edifice is inflated.
