Lumad Basakanon of San Nicolas Proper was the big winner in the Sinulog sa Dakbayan in Cebu City, one of the major events leading to the Sinulog Grand Parade on January 19, 2025. 

The group was named Best in Ritual Showdown and Best Choreography, Best in Costume; and won in the Street Dancing Competition.

Meanwhile, three groups emerged as winners in the first ever brass band competition:

• 2nd runner up: 100,000 - Symphony Saint Florian Marching Band
• 1st Runner Up: P200,000 - RNB Youth Symphonic Band
• Champion - P300,000 - 560th Air Base Group Marching Band
