At least four towns in Misamis Oriental experienced flooding following heavy rains on Thursday, January 9, 2025.
According to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), these municipalities are Talisayan, Balingoan, Kinoguitan, and Sugbongcogon.
“Ang lungsod sa Talisayan, Balingoan, Kinoguitan ug Sugbongcogon, nagkusog pud ang ulan gani sa ilang report sa opisina… flash flood man gani,” PDRRMO Head, Fernando Vincent Dy Jr., said.
Some motorists were stranded as floodwaters rose along the national highway in Talisayan.
Classes were suspended in the four towns.
Floodwaters reportedly subsided after a few hours.
The situation in the four municipalities has returned to normal.
