Authorities have identified the two dead bodies dug out at a vacant lot in Barangay Lun Padido, Malapatan, Sarangani.

The victims were identified by their respective families based on the tattoo in their bodies.

The victims, a 40-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man, were live-in partner and residents of Barangay Mabuhay, General Santos City.

According to the family of the woman, the two were seen last at the market evening on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

The following day, a farmer found and dug their bodies out the following day.

The two sustained stab wounds.

“Nalibog gyud ko nganung naabot sila didto… dili nako kaya motan-aw sir… bisag karon gani dili ko patan-awon… sakit gyud kaayo ba, grabe kaayo ang gihimo nila sa akong anak ug sa iyang bana,” Jocelyn Labis, the mother of the woman, said.

Police said the killing may have something to do with illegal drugs.

Investigators have yet to identify the perpetrators.

“Gina-backtrack pa namo ang record. Related sa drugs, posible. Continuous man ang among follow up investigation. Utro pud ang coordination namo sa Gensan Police Station. Daghan na mi gikuha nga details pud and padayon ang atong imbestigasyon,” Malapatan Municipal Police Station Chief, Major, Lloyd Levin Caigas, said.
