In Barangay Doyong, Calasiao, Pangasinan, local devotees honored the Feast of the Black Nazarene with a dawn procession, Mass, and a community feast, sharing stories of faith and answered prayers.
Elaine Maynigo, owner of the Jesus of Nazareth Chapel, shared how her family’s devotion began.
“Parang sinabi sa kanya, magpatayo siya ng chapel. Nagpatayo siya pero hindi pa ganito, mas maliit. Pinalaki na ito ngayon,” she said.
Elaine’s husband, who built the chapel during an illness, experienced what the family describes as a miraculous recovery after its completion.
For Beatriz Nacar, a lifelong devotee, her faith in the Nazareno has brought blessings, especially for her grandchild with a disability.
“Kasi po lahat ng hinihiling ko, lalo na yung apo ko na may sakit, unti-unti na siyang gumagaling,” she said.

The Feast of the Black Nazarene remains a significant event for Filipinos deeply, drawing devotees to honor their faith and reflect on the blessings they’ve received.
In Binmaley, 52-year-old Nestor Vinluan visited the Jesus the Nazarene Parish Church to express gratitude for his healing.
“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa kanila, sa Poong Nazareno dahil napagaling ako sa kidney stone at gallstone. Sa awa ng Diyos, gumaling naman ako,” he said.
The Feast of the Black Nazarene, celebrated annually since 1606, has become a symbol of resilience and faith for many Filipinos.
“Kahit tayo ay nakadapa sa buhay, may mga pagkakataon na may pasan-pasan tayo na bigat at nahihirapan tayo. Tinuturuan tayo ng Diyos na tumingala at hindi Niya tayo pababayaan,” Rev. Fr. Jerald Jimenez from the Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan said.
While many devotees flock to Quiapo, Manila, for the annual Traslacion procession, others like Vinluan choose to spend the day in prayer at their local parishes.
