Two persons died while three others were injured in an incident of electrocution while dismantling an outdoor Christmas tree in Mabinay town, Province of Negros Oriental.

The incident happened at 5:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025.

In a report received by Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO), the victims were dismantling a Christmas tree entry of Barangay Arebasore in the Municipality of Mabinay. However, the boom of a lift truck they were using snagged a live wire.

The five victims were rushed to the hospital, but two of them expired there.

The other three are already in stable condition, as of this writing.

Police Lt. Stephen Polinar, information officer of NOPPO, confirmed that one of the casualties is a barangay councilman of Arebasore, while the other is the lift truck operator.
