Three people died in separate road accidents in the towns of Quezon and Manolo Fortich in Bukidnon.
Police said five vehicles figured in a smash-up in Manolo Fortich.
Based on investigation, the driver of a 10-wheeler truck allegedly lost control of the vehicle and plowed through a motorcycle, a freezer van, a pickup truck, and an elf parked by the road.
The driver of the freezer van died while the motorcycle rider and the driver of the pickup truck were brought to the hospital for treatment.
"Isa ang namatay, katong driver sa freezer van, mao to namatay dayon sa motor, gi-refer siya sa Cagayan karon, at the same time, katong driver sa fuso truck,” Manolo Fortich Municipal Police Station Chief, Lt. Col. Evary Bacunawa, said.
Meanwhile, the driver of an L300 van and the passenger of a freezer van died after the two vehicles collided and fell into a cliff in Quezon town.
Police said both vehicles were heading to Quezon town proper when the brakes of the freezer van allegedly malfunctioned. It then crashed into the L300 van it was following.
The driver of the freezer van was taken under police custody and may face charges for reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide and damage to property.
