A businesswoman escaped death after she was shot by two unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle in Dingras, Ilocos Norte, evening on Monday, January 6, 2025.
The victim, 44-year-old Nenette Santos, is a "buy and sell" pig trader from Barangay Upig, San Ildefonso, Bulacan.
She was in a sports utility vehicle (SUV) with three others when the suspects approached on a motorcycle and shot her at close range. She was in the driver’s seat.
Santos was hit in the chest but was rushed to the hospital for treatment immediately.
Authorities recovered a fired bullet and an empty shell from a .45 caliber firearm at the crime scene.
The police continue to investigate the incident and are working to identify the suspects and the motive behind the shooting.
