At least seven barangays in Davao City were flooded over the weekend, according to the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO).

These barangays are Matina Pangi, Talomo River, Riverside, Matina Crossing, Lasang, Bunawan, and Matina Aplaya.

In Barangay Matina Pangi, around 199 families were evacuated due to the flood but they have since returned to their homes.

Nearly six houses were also destroyed.

“Ang totally damaged nato sa kaning nga balay gyud nga na-wash out, almost six houses then almost 25 individuals ni sila na-belong ani mga six nga balay,” BDRRMC Matina Pangi Head, Jimmy Villaber, said.

The fire trucks of Central 911 also implemented water rationing in the area due to water interruption.

A portion of the road near a bridge was also damaged after the soil caved in. The bridge is only passable for light vehicles, as of this writing.

Floodwaters that reached waist-deep also entered some houses near the Barangay Talomo River.
