Three former convicted persons were involved in a gunfight; one was killed, while the other two were injured. 

The incident happened in Sitio Janssen, Barangay Basak San Nicolas, Cebu City on January 5, 2025. 

The casualty was identified only as a certain “Ikong,” 33-year-old male, and a resident of the said “sitio” (sub-village).

Alias “Boboy,” another ex-convict, also a resident of Barangay Basak San Nicolas, was injured.

The suspect was identified as a certain “Jojo,” 42 years old, a resident of adjacent barangay, Mambaling. 

In an information provided by Mambaling Police Station 11 of the Cebu City Police Office, the suspect bought illegal drugs allegedly from “Ikong” and “Bobby.” However, “Ikong” and “Bobby” did not give “Jojo” any.

“Jojo” got irate and opened fire at “Ikong” and “Bobby.”

It was learned that “Ikong” and “Bobby” returned fire that hit “Jojo.”

The police have checked hospitals for Jojo's whereabouts believing that “Jojo” might have sought medical assistance.
