Close to 4,000 cops will be deployed for two major festivities in Panay Island.
The Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 said it is prepared for the “Ati-atihan Festival” of Kalibo in the Province of Aklan set on January 19, 2025 and Dinagyang Festival of Iloilo City on January 26, 2025.
According to Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of PRO 6, in a press conference on January 6, 2025, that over 1,700 police personnel will be deployed in Aklan for the Ati-atihan Festival, while over 2,000 cops will be deployed in the Iloilo City for the Dinagyang Festival.
Wanky said that the security plans are in place, as well as the tight monitoring at transportation terminals in the region.
