A yacht conked out while sailing the waters between the islands of Cebu and Bohol.
Personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) District Central Visayas responded to a distress call afternoon on January 5, 2025.
"At approximately 2:07 PM January 5, 2025, CGDCV personnel received an urgent call from the master of SV LEILANI, reporting that the yacht had suffered engine failure while navigating the vicinity waters between Catarman, Liloan, Cebu, and Western Bohol," Coast Guard District 7 said.
On board the yacht that bears the name “SV Leilani” are two Australian nationals.
PCG send immediately BRP Malabrigo to the site to lead the rescue operations.
The yacht, SV Leilani, was towed back to Cebu and docked by evening of January 5, 2025.
