Three robbers carted away cash worth P2.5 million and pieces of jewelry, among other items, from a cellular phone trader in Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City.
The incident was caught on closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera past 12 a.m. on December 31, 2024.
According to 21-year-old Remark Broa, the victim, in an exclusive interview with DYSS Super Radyo Cebu, prior to the incident he disembarked from his car to open the gate of the house he is renting. He saw a motorcycle parked outside of the gate.
The moment he was already inside the compound, he again disembarked from the car to close the gate this time. However, the three suspects met him and ordered him to go back to his car.
Broa narrated that his mouth was sealed with an adhesive tape, his hands were bound, and that he was ordered to drop on the floor of his car.
The suspects took the paper bag where the cash was kept along with the other items.
The suspects were not able to enter the house, Broa said.
The suspects fled on board a motorcycle.
Broa added that he was able to remove the tape that bound his hands, and called his friends and siblings to inform them of the incident.
His friends and siblings arrived and had the incident reported to the police.
