At least 14 members of the New People’s Army (NPA) have abandoned the armed struggle and returned to the folds of the law in Bukidnon on the first day of 2025.

The 14 is composed of two leaders of the NPA headquarters, six members of Milisya ng Bayan, and six members of DGF53.

The mass surrender was facilitated by the Bukidnon 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), 48th Infantry Battalion, and other police units.

“This collaborative effort highlights the sustained commitment of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) to fostering peace and ending insurgency in Northern Mindanao,” the Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10), said.

The 14 also turned over a cache of weapons and explosives, including grenades, rifles, shotguns, and ammunition.

They will be enrolled to the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), a government program that provide former rebels reintegration support and opportunities for a peaceful return to society.

“I commend these individuals for choosing to lay down their arms and return to the folds of the law. This achievement underscores the unwavering dedication of the AFP, PNP, and local government units in advancing peace and development in Northern Mindanao,” PRO-10 Director, Brigadier General Jaysen De Guzman, said.
